The 10th Young Scholar Forum for Medical, Environmental History and Digital Humanities Research in East Asia came to a successful conclusion yesterday. We are delighted that nine presenters and several senior scholars participated in the event, engaging in knowledge exchange, sharing opinions, and discussions through a combination of online and on-site participation.

We would like to extend our special thanks to Dr. Ku Ya-wen from the Environmental History Group in the Institute of Taiwan History, Academia Sinica, as well as Professor IIJIMA from Aoyama Gakuin University in Japan, Professor YEO In-sok from Yonsei University in Korea, Professor Pan, and Professor Baker from History Department of NDHU for their assistance. Through two days of exchange and discussion on topics related to environmental history, medical history, and digital humanities, they provided valuable guidance and suggestions to the young students.

Especailly Dr. Adam Horálek from the University of Pardubice, Czech Republic, for delivering an insightful keynote speech at the forum. His lecture, entitled "Taiwan’s Mountains and Taiwan’s People: From control towards identification, from conquest towards cohabitation, between recreation and protection," provided much inspiration and stimulated discussion among the attendees.

For this edition of the Young Scholar Forum, the host institution, Donghua University, also organized an exciting field trip. Participants visited Hualien Mountain's 77 Highlands for a bird's-eye view of Hualien River estuary and the stunning Pacific Ocean, as well as the old Japanese immigrant village and the Japanese Buddhist temple Keishoin in the Ji-An County. Please join us in reminiscing on the two days of wonderful activities through the following vedios.

特別是來自University of Pardubice, Czech Republic的Dr. Taiwan’s Mountains and Taiwan’s People: From control towards identification, from conquest towards cohabitation, between recreation and protection
